–CA STATE REGULATIONS KEEP US IN A HOLDING PATTERN
The good news, we are still hanging on in the red tier. The bad news, we might be dropped back down into the purple tier next Tuesday.
At this time I have not heard from AMF on any target week that Fall leagues might be able to start. With the uncertainty of our tier status, I am sure they are just like us waiting until next Tuesday to decide. So obviously we will not be able to start Fall leagues this week or next. Until next Tuesday…..
In the meantime, when AMF Southwest Lanes opens, Jose wanted me to share with you’re their updated hours of operation:
Mondays – 5pm to 10pm
Tuesdays – 5pm to 11pm
Wednesdays – 1pm – 11pm
Thursdays – 5pm – 10pm
Fridays – 11am – 1am
Saturdays – 1pm – 1am
Sundays – 1pm – 10pm

–SINCERE CONDOLENCES
On Sat., Oct. 31, the local bowling community lost Tom Hale. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Randy and Kevin and their families. This was a sudden thing and their families are still trying to get through the shock. Tom will be missed. As of this time, a Celebration of Life has not been scheduled.
Also on Sat., Oct. 31, Randy Page’s Dad, John Page, passed away. He was 92.
–CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. & MRS. CHRIS GARCIA
Chris Garcia and Beth Tilley were married on Sat., November 7th. The happy couple are currently honeymooning!
–NEWS YOU CAN USE FROM CUSBC
The California USBC Board met on Sept. 29, and have made the following decisions:
–The 2021 Adult State Championships to be held at Forest Lanes in Lake Forest have been cancelled due to the unknow future of the centers reopening and the unknown capacity that the centers can hold once they do reopen.
–The 2021 Pepsi Youth Championships will be District (March) and State Finals (May) only. League level qualifying is removed. Only current California youth that are entered in a 2020-21 USBC certified league can participate. Youth Directors will be emailed a tournament packet by November 1st and hard copy packets by December. If centers are still closed by February 1, this event will unfortunately have to cancel.
–All other CUSBC events will be addressed next year.

With the delay in Fall/Winter leagues getting to start, did you know you can look up what your Book Average is on Bowl.com? You can also purchase your 2020-21 sanction card or wait until leagues do start and purchase your card through your first day/night of league bowling.
–TOURNAMENT CLUB CANCELLATIONS CONTINUE
Be sure to check with the tournament director whether an upcoming event is a go or not as it changes from day-to-day, even hour-to-hour! Many of them are trying their darndest to provide events for bowlers to compete in but are up against city, county and state health regulations.
